Engaging Newly Arrived Students in Computational Thinking through Informal STEAM Learning Experiences

In this study, we investigate the newly arrived students’ previous science learning experience in formal and informal settings while creating an informal learning experience (e.g., maker-spaces, robotic, coding academy). We also examine the informal learning context for inclusive science learning opportunities for the newly-arrived students. 

The aim of this study is to investigate how an informal learning space may create inclusive and engaging science learning opportunities for newly arrived students.
